Obsolete VS Replaceable
There's definitely a difference between fearing obsolescence and fearing replacement by AI.
I've seen this concern come up a lot, specifically for experienced ghostwriters.
Fear of becoming obsolete is about your skills or processes no longer being relevant.
It's the idea that your current way of doing things might not be effective in a changing landscape, which is a real worry for many ghostwriters right now.
It pushes you to adapt and learn new tools, like how AI can streamline research or drafting.
Fear of being replaced by AI, on the other hand, is more about the technology outright taking your job.
This concern often comes from seeing businesses try to use AI to completely replace human writers for volume or cost reasons.
While AI can handle some basic writing tasks, it doesn't replace the critical thinking, strategic insight, or unique voice that human writers bring.
The good news is that there’s solution for both types of fears.
