Solving the Edit Problem: An AI Framework for Ghostwriters
I just talked to a ghostwriter today that has issues with endless client edits. You know, those never-ending requests to change small things in the text, especially when it comes to adding new topics or ideas?
It's like clients want to squeeze in extra info, but it doesn't always fit smoothly.
This means more work for you, delays, and a lot of back-and-forth.
AI to the Rescue
My solution? Use AI to make your writing flow better.
Here's how it works: first, ask AI to analyze the document you've already written. Then, tell the AI what new topic or lines you want to add. Ask it how to naturally blend those ideas into the text.
Here are the prompts I shared that can help you:
"You're a professional blog post writer, in [industry]. Your audience is [audience description]. Uploaded here are my writing guidelines [upload the pdf of client brief/brand voice]. I'm going to share with you a blog post I've written for your industry. Analyze it. Once done, please respond with 'ready'. [paste blog post]"
(Follow-up with this prompt) "I want to include [topic] into the text. I want it to flow seamlessly and naturally, as part of the discussion. I don't want it to be promotional. It must be a natural part of the topic, based on the audience's needs and the brand voice. [paste topic/a few lines/general idea] how could I do that? Ask me questions to further clarify"
It might not be perfect the first time, but keep prompting and tweaking until you get a good result.
