Ghost Writer Toolkit

Which AI writing tool is the best?

Finding the "best" AI writing tool is really about what you need it for—these tools are always getting better, which is exciting! In my work, I've noticed a few that truly shine in different areas.

My Primary Tools

Gemini is my top pick for general use. It’s what I rely on for all my personal projects, as it performs consistently well across many tasks.

For tasks requiring creativity, I turn to Claude. I use it through my work, and it's excellent for brainstorming and generating fresh ideas. Its "projects" feature is also incredibly helpful for keeping all creative drafts and thoughts organized.

ChatGPT, also accessible through work, is my choice for reasoning and analytical tasks. It’s superb for brainstorming sessions and even for generating complex Google Sheet formulas. They recently added a "projects" feature too, making organization similar to Claude.

For Research and Exploration

When I need to process large amounts of data quickly, conduct deep research, or fact-check information, Perplexity is my go-to. It's highly effective at sifting through numerous articles and extracting key insights, saving a lot of time.

Lastly, there's NotebookLM. This tool is particularly useful for problem formulation and when you're exploring a new topic with minimal guidance. It consolidates all AI-generated thinking in one place, preventing information overload from external data.

So, while there isn't one universal "best" tool, understanding each one's strengths can help you choose the most effective option for your specific task.
